NYE post
The Mr. is currently making duck-n-smoked bacon sliders, I just pulled out some pistachio cookies from the oven, the wine has been decanted, the cheese board almost set up, and our friends should be here soon to ring in the new year. 2011 was pretty boss for me, let’s all hope 2012 is even better for everyone.

A wonderful LJ bud who is Serbian helped me tweak the translations for the story I posted today, so now I feel that it is CORRECT and I don’t have to fret.
YAY. (And really, if you ever see something wonky in something I’ve written, I’m not going to be offended if you tell me. I’d much rather something be RIGHT than be stubborn and thick-headed and WRONG.)

Sister? The homeless man on the train? This is his story. (And aren’t you ashamed of yourself now?) 6000 of sorrow, I’m sorry? (Not really, this is for Goran and my other Serbian friends that got out when they could.)

why does my brain do this?
I just spent the past three hours researching a tiny village in Serbia for about three sentences in a fic. MUST BE AUTHENTIC, ZOMG. then I pulled out pictures of my old boyfriend Goran who’s parents sent him away during the Serb-Croatian war and remembered what an outstanding kisser he was, lol. Mm, European boys are awesome kissers.

e-books are easy
(Free-ware is your friend) Go get Open Office (it’s the best word processing program out there, imo.) Put your doc in it, extract it into a pdf. There’s one format for you.
Then, go download Calibre, another awesome freeware program that manages all of your ebooks. Add your pdf file, then “convert” to whatever format you want, mobi, epub, etc. You can even put pictures...
